Computed Tomography (C.T)
We are excited to have become the only practice in the local area to have a CT scanner lorry visit us once a month (subject to demand) at our Hook Norton hospital. Animals in the past have had to be referred to specialist centres further afield to benefit from CT.
CT scanning uses x-rays to produce a 3D image. This allows the accurate diagnosis and treatment planning of a wide range of conditions that can be hard to diagnose on regular x-rays or ultrasounds. A scan takes about 45 minutes during which 150-200 images are produced per animal! These images are then interpreted by a RCVS recognised specialist in diagnostic imaging.
