PPID/Cushing’s vouchers for new cases of PPID and on-going monitoring of PPID.
New cases of PPID:
If you suspect your horse or pony may have Cushing’s Disease, and he/she has never been tested or hasn’t had a test for over 12-months, then you qualify for a free PPID lab test*. Contact us to speak to a vet, T: 01608 730085.
On-going Monitoring of PPID:
If your horse or pony is being treated for PPID and currently on Prascend, then you qualify for a free monitoring lab test*. To get the free monitoring lab test, you/the owner need to register on the Care about Cushing’s website: www.careaboutcushings.co.uk and complete all of the relevant information and opt-in to receive emails.
The voucher will then be sent directly to you. You have to give the vet the voucher when the vet comes to perform the blood test**. Follow the link to register on the Care About Cushing’s website, and claim your free voucher***.
*For both vouchers the laboratory fee is FOC. However, there is a fee for taking the blood and a regular visit fee (unless the blood is taken on a Zone Visit, in which case there will a discounted Zone Visit Fee).
**You must give the voucher to the vet at the time of taking the blood, the voucher cannot be backdated.
***It is important to note that as a Practice we have no way of generating the monitoring vouchers, you/the owner MUST generate these vouchers or the normal lab fees will apply.
