Hook Norton Veterinary Group was founded in 1981 by J. Alan Walker who took over from his father, J.J. Walker, a vet practitioner.
In 1983 a branch Surgery at Shipston-on-Stour was set up. In 1985 Stephen Glanvill became a partner and opened the branch Surgery at Charlbury. In 1995 Simon Richards joined the Partnership and the main Hook Norton branch of the Practice moved to its new premises at White Hills Surgery in 2002. A further branch surgery at Deddington opened in June 2006. In 2008 Gary Jennings became a Partner and Sam Baldwyn joined the LLP Partnership in 2013. Sam Cutts and Will Oldham became Partners in 2017 and the Moreton-in-Marsh branch opened in spring 2019. In September 2019 Sam Potter became the most recent Partner, concurrent with Simon Richards’ retirement from the Practice after almost 25 years as a Partner.
The White Hills Surgery is a tier 3 Small Animal Hospital under the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) accreditation scheme. This means that we have passed rigorous inspections covering areas such as health and safety, hygiene, the provision of 24-hour cover and clinical governance as well as having access to on-site laboratory facilities for diagnostic testing.
The Hook Norton Veterinary Group is proud to be a member of XLVets. This is a group of privately owned veterinary practices spanning the length and breadth of the UK working together to share veterinary ideas, knowledge, and skills. We are able to share information and ideas, using forums and continuing education meetings with the aim of providing the best care for your pets, horses, and livestock.
