Following the latest COVID-19 announcement from the Government, we want to assure you we are open and the welfare of your pets, horses and livestock remains our top priority. All HNVG branches will remain open and we continue to follow COVID secure guidelines.
Clients will not be allowed into the building, including the equine yard; this applies to all HNVG sites, with the exception of euthanasia. Our staff will advise you on what to expect upon arrival to HNVG in these circumstances. We will be re-assessing the COVID secure rules after Christmas.
Please do not stock up on prescriptive medications, we have adequate stock, and stock levels.
We will continue to assess remotely, in the first instance, and book only essential appointments. If you would prefer not to come to the surgery, video consultations can be booked with a vet.
Lastly, if you have any worries about your animal, and are not sure whether they need to see a vet, please contact us. The care and wellbeing of your pets, horses, and livestock is our top priority.
Small Animal
> We will continue to vaccinate your dogs and rabbits, as some diseases are Zoonotic and can be transferred to humans. Please call us for advice regarding vaccinating cats.
> Repeat prescriptions, flea and worming treatments will continue to be dispensed. These can be posted, or if necessary, collected from one of our sites.
> If we cannot remotely triage your pet via video or telephone consultation, you may be asked to attend the practice.
> If you or a family member are self-isolating or are confirmed to have COVID-19 you should not be involved in any visit to the practice. Contact us for advice on what to do in this situation.
> Home visits will still take place, should they be deemed necessary. If you require a visit, have COVID-19 or are self-isolating, and there is no other way your pet can be bought to the practice, our staff will advise you on what to expect in these circumstances.
Equine
> Our vets will be wearing masks and we would ask clients to do the same and to maintain social distancing during our visits.
> We will continue to vaccinate your horses.
> If we cannot remotely triage your horse via video or telephone consultation, a visit may be required.
> WE WILL CONTACT YOU if you already have an appointment booked that does not meet the new Government Guidelines.
> Zone Visits will continue for essential appointments.
> If you or a family member are self-isolating or are confirmed to have COVID-19 you should not be involved in the visit. Contact us for advice on what to do in this situation.
Farm
> There will be minimal disruption to our Farm Department as our farm clients provide an essential service in supplying the countries food chain. Social distancing, hand hygiene, and biosecurity rules remain in place.
> If you or a family member are self-isolating or are confirmed to have COVID-19 you should not be involved in the visit. Contact us for advice on what to do in this situation.
