The provisional findings of the Competition and Markets Authority’s (CMA) ongoing investigation into the veterinary market were released yesterday.
As an independent practice, we fully support the CMA veterinary investigation and its focus on improving transparency, choice, and clarity for pet owners. We’re pleased to say that many of the CMA’s proposed remedies are already in place here at Hook Norton Veterinary Group, helping our clients make well informed decisions about their pets’ care and costs. As the CMA’s decision making progresses, we will continue to engage constructively and support any measures that help pet owners make confident, informed choices about their veterinary care.
As a valued HNVG client, you may already have experienced some of these measures:
✅ Access to our online price list for a range of services and treatments
✅ Written estimates for all procedures, upon request, providing clarity and confirmation
✅ The option to receive a written prescription, allowing you to purchase your pet’s medication elsewhere*
✅ Clear points of contact(don’t forget PetsApp, it’s an easy and convenient way to contact our reception teams and vets if you haven’t the time to phone us), whether you need to speak with reception, your vet, accounts, or the management team
