Today, we have been made aware of a scam that targets the owners of missing cats that have been posted as missing online.
Someone pretending to be from the PDSA has contacted the worried owner/s asking them to pay a release fee of £5. They have then been told to collect their cat from one of our surgeries. Unfortunately, a large sum of money has then been taken by the scammers.
If you are unsure, please, please phone us! Phone us before you hand over any money, we would never ask for money to release a pet. If you are asked to collect a pet from a vet that isn’t part of Hook Norton Vets, call them directly or phone the PDSA.
The scammers appear to be doing their homework and researching online before making the call, so please be wary.
