Measuring Farm Stress – Do you have a spare 10 minutes?
We have been contacted by a PHD student from Northumbria University, Newcastle. Her research concentrates on how we can try and build resilience in members of the farming community to improve their mental well-being. Please see below all about the survey.
“As part of my research, we recently gathered information regarding farm stress. We have taken that information and used it to design a new scale to measure farm stress. The scale not only looks at the causes but also considers its psychological impact. We hope to use the information from the data obtained to guide the development of interventions to reduce stress and improve mental well-being.
We are looking for members of the farming community (including farmers, farm workers, managers, farming family members and employees from associated industries) to complete the new scale and some accompanying questions. The questions themselves should take no more than 10 minutes to complete.
It should take no more than 10 minutes to complete and is totally anonymous. If you can spare the time we would be very grateful.”
