Laparoscopic Surgery (keyhole surgery) for cats

Laparoscopic surgery (keyhole surgery) for pets is becoming increasingly popular due to its minimally invasive nature, faster recovery times, and reduced pain compared to traditional open surgery. At Hook Norton Veterinary Group we have some very experienced surgeons that are able to use our laparoscopy equipment to complete complex and minimally invasive surgery. 

Laparoscopic procedures for cats available at Hook Norton Veterinary Group include: 

• Laparoscopic ovariohysterectomy. If a uterus is scanned and seen to be abnormal, it is possible for us to remove the uterus, along with the ovaries, via laparoscopic surgery.
• Cryptorchid castrations. Used to locate and remove undescended testicles that are retained in the abdomen or inguinal region. The retained abdominal testicles can be removed with significantly less pain via laparoscopy compared to the traditional surgical method. 
• Ovarian remnant removal. Used to address ovarian tissue left behind from a previous spay.
• Biopsy of Other Organs. Tissue samples can also be taken from organs like the liver, pancreas, intestines, or kidneys.
