In many respects, the bull or ram is the most important animal on the farm, being responsible for 50% of the genetic makeup of each annual calf or lamb crop, making fertility testing a crucial aspect of your farm.
It is estimated 20% of bulls/rams are sub-fertile at any one time. We, therefore, recommend our Breeding Soundness Assessments, which involve a full physical examination +/- semen evaluation if needed. Animals should be checked pre-breeding, after newly arriving on-farm, and of course, any suspect animals during the breeding season. Discounts are available for testing multiple animals at the same time. We can do rams at the surgery to save a visit to the farm.
