I began my career within the veterinary industry 2015. I started at Hook Norton as a ‘Saturday girl’ alongside being in full time education.

I then moved to another practice working as a veterinary receptionist before returning to Hook Norton in 2020 where I took on the role of veterinary nursing assistant. After working as a VNA for a year I then began my veterinary nursing training. I decided to train via the diploma route which consisted of attending college once a week alongside working at Hook Norton for the rest of the week being guided by my assigned clinical coach.

After passing my theory exams, I then had to partake in an OSCE practical exam. This is an exam that all veterinary nurses must pass in order to qualify as an RVN. To my relief, I passed my OSCE exam in March this year and I am now a registered veterinary nurse.

I love all aspects of my job, I especially

love getting to know the patients, in particular those patients who have to stay with us long term. It’s the best feeling seeing patients start to feel better when we get to see their usual happy selves!
