Lucy joined HNVG as a veterinary nursing assistant in January 2022. She completed her in house veterinary nursing assistant training at HNVG and after 9 months she made the decision to start her veterinary nursing training at Solihull College. She currently attends college 1 day a week as part of her training to become a RVN. As well as attending college, Lucy is required to complete a nursing progress log where she logs a wide range of cases from practice in a variety of different skills. Lucy works towards completing this alongside taking multiple exams in a range of topics.
Although the veterinary nursing training is challenging, Lucy is loving every second of her training. She loves learning new things that she can apply to practice and is dedicated to completing her training and becoming an RVN.
Although Lucy enjoys many areas of nursing, she has a particular interest for inpatient care, laboratory work and feline nursing. Lucy is passionate about taking measures to create a fear free environment for our patients, especially our feline patients. Lucy’s love for cats came from her having pet cats from a young age. She currently has a cheeky black and white cat called Bella.
