Nika Kosem

Senior Vet - MRCVS

I’m a Slovenian vet and have been working in the UK for the last 4 years. I spent my early years on my uncle’s farm surrounded by cows, pigs and lots of chickens. Since I can remember, I’ve always wanted to be a vet, but I had always planned to work with large animals. I like to joke by saying that cows are and always will be my first love!

At work, I try to be as gentle and empathic as possible, making sure I treat my patients as one of my own. I believe any examination in my consulting room should be a positive experience – treats do help!

My main goal at work is to always do my best, constantly improve and do everything possible to improve the quality of my patient’s life. Maybe that’s why I enjoy performing dental procedures; they are demanding procedures, but seeing a patient without pain afterwards reminds me why I always wanted to be a vet.
