Ever wondered how your cows’ pregnancy rates stack up against other local herds? Whether it’s normal to have to pull as many calves as you do? Or what growth rates you can really expect from your stores? It’s time for your questions to be answered at our Beef KPI Meeting.
We are starting a very exciting project to create a valuable performance database, for the benefit of all our beef clients. We’ll do this by collecting simple information, in the form of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), from each of our beef farms over the course of the next year. There is a wealth of knowledge lurking behind each farm gate, and by collating this information, every farmer can take advantage of it to benchmark their own herd’s performance. You may be pleasantly surprised, or slightly shocked, to find out where you really are now, and what you could achieve! All Beef KPI data collected will be kept anonymous.
Other XLVets practices from around the country are also involved in this project, which has been running since 2021 – by getting involved, you’ll be able to access all their data too!
We are launching this project with a free evening meeting for our beef farmers. There will be a presentation introducing the project and explaining how to use these Beef KPIs to their full potential on your own farm. This will also be a great chance to catch up with farming friends while enjoying some dinner and drinks on the house! Our vets will be on hand to chat during the evening and answer any questions you have. All welcome, the more the merrier so spread the word.
