Supporting Mental Health in Farming: Harvest Supper Fundraiser Success

December 1, 2025 | by Charlie Hands | Equine Farm Pets

On behalf of the HNVG Farm Team, we want to extend our sincerest thanks to everyone who joined us, donated, and supported our first Harvest Supper charity event. Your generosity and community spirit made the evening truly special and took another step toward supporting mental health in farming.

We are incredibly proud to share that over £6,000 was raised for LEN’S LIGHT, a charity founded by two members of our own farming community, Linda and Andy Eadon, in memory of their beloved son, Leonard Eadon, who tragically lost his life due to the pressures faced in farming.

Len’s Light supports three vital charities working to improve safety and mental health in farming

Our guests enjoyed an abundance, truly mountains, of locally produced food, generously donated by our amazing clients. Everything was washed down with dessert and plenty of wine and beer!

Thank you to our amazing clients and local food producers for supporting our Charity Harvest Supper. We couldn’t have done it without you!

You can explore our interactive map of local producers and support them directly. If you’re a local producer who’d like to be included, please get in touch.

The evening also featured a fantastic raffle and auction. Thank you to every single one of you.

What stood out most was the sense of connection. The Harvest Supper offered a rare chance to come together, share stories, laugh, and openly discuss the challenges we all face in farming. Many guests mentioned how unusual and welcome it was to make time for these conversations. It was heartwarming to see how the evening brought our community closer, with many leaving feeling just a little lighter.

If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health, no matter how small the worry may seem, please reach out. The charities we supported are here to help, and you can always speak to a loved one, or even your vet, for guidance.

As Timothy Ferriss wisely said, “Sometimes the worst place you can be is in your own head.”

We’re already planning the next Harvest Supper and hope to see you all there. If you have suggestions for future local charities to support, we’d love to hear from you.

Thank you again for your unwavering support. Together, we’re making a real difference in supporting mental health in farming and in our farming community.
